Seed collection

Our contract seed collection service is based on the ‘Florabank’ guidelines and twenty years experience and knowledge in this field. We recommend customers to use our seed collection service for the following reasons:
• to ensure local indigenous seed will be used for revegetation purposes
• to maintain the genetic integrity of the site or local area
• to ensure appropriate amounts of local seed are collected (as indigenous seed is a valuable resource and should only be used in a sustainable manner) to achieve revegetation purposes
• to ensure appropriate species and species diversity are used for revegetation purposes
• to ensure only mature seed is collected
• to provide efficient and reliable seed sorting and storage
• to ensure all appropriate seed collection licences and OH&S procedures are provided and maintained
• and to ensure appropriate records of seed collection are kept and stored in a data base

Plant propagation, production and supply

We emphasis the following features in relation to our plant propagation, production and supply:
• The use of local indigenous plant species (only local indigenous seed or plant material will be used in our native plant propagation and production for revegetation whenever possible)
• Competitive price (a price structure that is competitive with most Sydney-based and Hunter plant production nurseries)
• Quality (plant production quality will be maintained at the highest standard possible by fully qualified and trained staff)
• OHS/ WHS procedures (Occupational Health & Safety will be a priority and appropriately maintained and improved to ensure the well being of our staff)
• Environmental management (systems of environmental management will be used to reduce the environmental impact of our activities as much as possible. We adopted an Environmental Management System Plan in May 2012. A copy is available.)
• Experience and knowledge (a previous 20 years experience and knowledge in the environmental/ horticultural fields will be used in our advice to our customers, and with our management of plant propagation and production)
• Personal Customer Satisfaction (we will endeavour to collect and grow any local species you require, and consult with you to plan our propagation, production and supply to meet your organisation’s various site revegetation programs)
